BDS sold out

Only 34 days after entries opened - a new NPS record?

So, the British Downhill Series has offically sold out already, catching many top riders out who assumed that they would be saved a spot. Rheola was predictably the first to fill, Llangollen, Fort William and Caersws quickly followed, and the ever opinion-dividing Moelfre held out a couple of days longer before finally filling its last spot.

The reserve lists are also full, and entries have now been closed. Elites and riders who have successfully entered another round will get priority when spaces become available.

Elites getting priority? On the one hand no, Elites shouldn't get special treatment just because they're Elites, and they should need to be as sharp on the ball when entering as everyone else. Realistically though, the premier DH series in the UK needs the Elites, so it would be foolish of us to expect they'll be turned away if they can be squeezed in. It would be a bad decision by BDS if they turned away big names on principle alone, IMHO.

In the words of Mr Paton:

Guy and Girls,

Due to the overwhelming entries we have received in February as you all know the series is full to bursting!

Due to the demanding nature of our sport and that some of you are more stupid than you look. You will no doubt be crashing your brains out as well as forgetting about getting married to your Fiance (remember her? Don't worry I have her number..) and some other good reasons why you can't make that next round.

Therefore please let me know ASAP by e-mail with as much advance notice as possible and you can get a full refund, less your online booking fee of £2.99.

For those who are in for at least one round or more well done. Lets hope you are as fast on your pedal iron as you are on the keyboard!

Please note any spare spaces will be prioritised for the Elites and then for the rest of you. To get in drop me an e-mail and list your phone number and what races you want to enter. I will then contact you once a space becomes available.

No more phone calls please with your sob stories, my Violins now in for repair.

Cheers.

Si..
